Selective Harvest Logging

Silvicultural Practice

Selective harvest logging or selection cutting is the silvicultural practice of harvesting a proportion of the trees in a stand. By having arborists select the trees to be removed from your stand you can minimize the adverse effects of harvesting timber from your property or even improve the stand. Management objectives can include the protection of forest soils, maintenance or improvement of wildlife habitat, the increase of individual stem productivity, encouragement of regeneration / species diversity or the improvement of the visual amenity of plantations. Proper forest management practices can ensure the long-term beauty, health and financial productivity of your woods. Above & Beyond partners with an experienced logger to select, cut, remove and sell your timber as well as restore your woods.
